One annual cycle for the small audit function, from universe to audit committee report.
Audirium Basics is the entry-level app for an internal audit function of one to three auditors: choose the subjects, adopt an annual plan, carry out engagements with review, follow up actions, measure your own quality and report to the audit committee. Built and hosted in the EU.
From now to next
From loose files to a year that closes
A small audit function has the same obligations as a large one, but no time to set up a suite. Basics records the annual cycle as it runs.
The annual plan lives in loose files
Which subjects exist, how heavily they weigh and when they are due is spread over sheets and memories.
A universe with a cycle
Each subject gets a risk score (impact times complexity) and the cycle follows from the impact. Basics proposes the annual plan; you move items between quarters and the CAE adopts it.
Every engagement runs differently
The scope is adjusted along the way and a conclusion is recorded without the finding behind it.
Six fixed phases per engagement
You set the scope once. Work steps are generated from a standards framework or added by hand. A conclusion of ‘partly’ or ‘not effective’ requires a finding, and every change is kept in the step’s trail.
Review happens afterwards and out of sight
Comments sit in an email or in the margin, and nobody knows whether they were dealt with before the report goes out.
Review inside the engagement
The reviewer raises review points, the auditor answers them, the reviewer reopens or returns. Sign-off is only possible once every point is dealt with. If one person works in Basics, self-review is possible and is marked as such everywhere.
Findings and actions drift apart
The finding is in the report, the action in another overview, and the GIAS self-assessment in yet another file.
One list for actions
Findings from engagements and from the self-assessment land in one action list, as a Kanban board or a timeline, with history per field. A score of 1 or 2 in the self-assessment automatically creates an improvement action.
Frequently asked questions
What you want to know about Basics beforehand
What is Basics?
Audirium Basics is the entry-level app for a small internal audit function. One annual cycle from universe to audit committee report: universe, annual plan, engagement, review, actions, quality and the report to the audit committee, in one environment.
Who is Basics for?
For an internal audit function of one to three auditors that wants to run an annual cycle along the structure of the GIAS, without setting up a full suite. Readers such as auditees, management and the audit committee can follow along.
What does Basics do in practice?
Basics records a universe with a risk score, proposes an annual plan, guides each engagement through six phases with work steps, conclusion and findings, runs the review inside the engagement, keeps actions in one list, carries out the GIAS self-assessment and produces the audit committee report with live figures.
What happens when the function grows?
Basics is built on the same cores as Audit, TRIAS and ATS. On a move, the universe and annual plan go to Audit, the engagements with work steps to CRAFT, findings and actions to Action-tracking and the self-assessment to AQUA, so nothing has to be entered again.
Does Basics use AI?
No. Basics works without AI functions: every conclusion, every score and every text in the report comes from the auditor.
What stage is Basics in, and where is my data?
Basics is in beta and functionally complete. Access is by invitation; get in touch to arrange it. Data is kept separate per organisation on Hetzner servers in the European Union.
What Basics offers
One environment for the whole audit year
Basics is deliberately kept small: just the screens an annual cycle needs, with the rules the server enforces.
The annual cycle in seven stations
Universe, annual plan, engagements, review, actions, quality and audit committee report. The start page shows the next step, what follows and what is behind.
Universe and annual plan
A risk score per subject, a cycle that follows from the impact (every year, every other year or every third year) and a proposal for the annual plan that the CAE adopts.
Engagements in six phases
A scope set once, work steps from a standards framework, a method per step and an evidence reference. A finding carries a recommendation that you turn into an improvement action with one button.
Review enforced by the server
The four-eyes principle is enforced by the server. Review points, answers, reopening and sign-off are kept in the file, and the report can be exported as a PDF.
One action list
Findings from engagements and from the self-assessment, as a Kanban board or a timeline, with history per field and status.
GIAS self-assessment
A score from 1 to 4 per standard with an explanation, the average per domain and overall, and a comparison with the previous year.
Audit committee report with live figures
A draft per quarter or year with six parts: summary, annual plan progress, findings, actions, quality and outlook. Only the CAE adopts it; that freezes figures and text and stores a fixed PDF.
Move up to the suite later, without re-entering
Basics is built on the same cores as Audit, TRIAS and ATS. On a move, the universe and annual plan go to Audit, engagements to CRAFT, findings and actions to Action-tracking and the self-assessment to AQUA.
How it works
The audit year in six steps
Choose the subjects
Record the universe and give each subject an impact and a complexity. The cycle follows from them.
Adopt the annual plan
Take over the proposal, move items between quarters and have the CAE adopt it.
Carry out the engagements
Work through an engagement in six phases, with work steps, a conclusion and findings.
Have it reviewed
The reviewer raises points, you answer them, and sign-off closes the engagement in one go.
Follow the actions and measure yourself
Keep findings in one list and do the GIAS self-assessment, with the previous year alongside.
Report to the audit committee
Produce the audit committee report per quarter or year; the figures come live from Basics and the CAE adopts it.
